Administrative Services

Under Father's direction, the administrative services help to plan, direct, manage, and oversee the activities and operations of the parish.

We are blessed to have a fine selection of committees to ensure a bright future for our faith community. Please click on the titles to learn more about each opportunity and how you might volunteer your time and talents at Queen of Apostles.

Building & Grounds
Purpose:

To help guide the maintenance team with the up keep of parish buildings, and to develop a working time line for maintenance.

Responsibilities:
  1. Attend monthly meetings.
  2. Yearly walk through of buildings.
  3. Organize and direct a spring and fall clean-up for parish volunteers.

Gifts Needed for this Committee:
  1. Background with the building trades.
  2. A vision for the future.

Amount of Time Required:

1 to 3 hours monthly

One year; renewable as desired

Finance Committee
Purpose:

The finance committee makes recommendations to the parish council concerning all aspects of parish financial and budget matters, personnel, stewardship of resources, church support and fundraising coordination and upkeep of the physical facilities and properties of the parish. Finance committee members are selected according to the norm found in the Code of Canon Law C.537.

Responsibilities:
  1. Help the pastor in the administration of the goods of the parish.
  2. Attend monthly meetings with the Pastor and Trustees.
 
Gifts Needed for this Committee:
  1. Be an active, contributing member of the parish.
  2. Have knowledge in the area of accounting/finance.
  3. Can think creatively on ways to increase stewardship.

Amount of Time Required:

Approximately 1-3 hours each month.

2-3 years

History Committee
Purpose:

To preserve and document the past and present cherished history of Queen of Apostles. The efforts of this group enable us to appreciate and remember our heritage.

Responsibilities:
  1. Collect scattered documents, photos, parish items, etc.
  2. Organize documents, photos, parish items, etc.

Gifts Needed for this Committee:
  1. Interest in parish history - both past and living.
  2. Good organizational skills.
  3. Innovative.

Amount of Time Required:

1 - 3 hours each month.  

Length of Commitment:

1 year preferred; renewable as desired.

Parish Council
Purpose:

Oversee the direction of the parish and assist the pastor to establish the policies concerning parish matters.

Responsibilities:
  1. Council members need to provide direction of the parish community and help the parish grow and prosper.
  2. Active participation by members in the parish and surrounding community to help demonstrate the commitment to the parish and church.
  3. Faith in the parish staff, pastor, and parish members to provide a place for all individuals to pray and become a family.
  4. Ensure appropriate committees and groups are organized in the parish to foster the overall mission of the Catholic Church and the parish.
  5. Willing to listen to parish members regarding concerns and issues that impact the parish.
  6. Creativity for bringing new ideas to the parish to provide support for all ministries.

Gifts Needed for this Committee:
  1. Leadership skills are needed to assist the pastor in guiding the parish direction.
  2. Faithful to God, Catholic Church, and overall ministries of the parish.
  3. Collaborative individuals that can communicate with each other in a respectful manner.

 

Amount of Time Required:

3-4 hours per month; additional time for projects when necessary.

Length of Commitment:

3 year term, renewable for an additional 3 years;

Stewardship Committee
Purpose:

To help fellow parishioners recognize their God given gifts and assist them in finding parish ministries to accommodate their time and talents.

Responsibilities:
  1. Understand and promote the biblical concept of stewardship to all parishioners and parish groups.
  2. Prepare/update ministry position descriptions.
  3. Develop a welcoming program that helps new parishioners feel embraced by the parish, provide materials that highlight parish life, and invites participation by all.
  4. Ensures all gifts of time, talent and treasure are graciously accepted and those who provide them are properly thanked.
  5. Implement a children/youth stewardship effort within our parish community.
  6. Develop and oversee a stewardship plan/timeline.
  7. Oversees the efforts of stewardship education within the parish.
  8. Attend a monthly stewardship meeting.

Gifts Needed for this Committee:
  1. Spiritually motivated.
  2. Desire to exemplify and live out stewardship.
  3. Envision where stewardship can take our parish.
  4. Ability to share ideas with other committee members.

Amount of Time Required:

90 minutes, monthly; additional time for projects as required.

Length of Commitment:

Two or three year term.

Technology Committee
Purpose:

To provide the technological environment necessary to enhance all ministries within Queen of Apostles Parish. The technology committee is committed to supporting all ministries and administrative functions of the parish as well as any committees and groups that need assistance.

This committee is under formation. More information will be available as the responsibilities are clearly defined.
