Our Pastor

Father Robert Joseph Drutowski joined Queen of Apostles in 2006. He emphasizes the mission and purpose of the total parish, leadership formation, the Liturgy, and Christian formation for all ages, with an emphasis on teaching adults about Scripture, spirituality, and Catholic Tradition. Father Bob DrutowskiWe are truly blessed to have such a “seasoned” pastor for our parish.

Fr Bob is originally a native of Milwaukee’s East Side, baptized at St Hedwig’s Parish in the neighborhood where his dad grew up. He attended grade school at St Aloysius Parish in West Allis, and then De Sales Preparatory High School in Milwaukee.

Fr Bob graduated with honors from St Francis de Sales College in 1975, with a Theology Major, a Philosophy Minor, and the equivalent of a Minor in Psychology. He completed his seminary years at St Francis School of Pastoral Ministry in Milwaukee with the degree of Master of Divinity, and was ordained as a priest by Archbishop Rembert Weakland, OSB, on June 8, 1979.

Fr Bob’s field education included:

  • serving as catechist for elementary and secondary students at St Frederick’s Parish in Cudahy and Immaculate Conception Parish in Bay View
  • societal ministry at St Catherine’s Parish in Milwaukee
  • chaplaincy programs at St Francis Hospital and De Paul Rehabilitation Hospital in Milwaukee, and Trinity Memorial Hospital in Cudahy
  • a unit of Clinical Pastoral Education at St James Presbyterian Church in Denver, Colorado
  • a ministry apprenticeship at St Joseph’s Parish in Spearfish, South Dakota (including crisis intervention work through the Black Hills Mental Health Agency, and campus ministry at Black Hills State College)
  • internship as a transitional deacon at St Joseph’s Parish in Waukesha

As a priest of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, Fr Bob has served in the following assignments:

  • Associate Pastor, Sacred Heart Parish, Fond du Lac (1979-1980)
  • Pastoral Team Member, St Mary’s Parish, Waukesha (1980-1983)
  • Pastoral Team Member, St Matthias Parish, Milwaukee (1983-1988)
  • Associate Pastor, St Edward’s Parish, Racine (1988)
  • Chaplain and Director of Pastoral Care, St Catherine’s Hospital, Kenosha (1988-1994)
  • Pastor, St James Parish, Mukwonago (1994, 2006)
  • Pastor, Queen of Apostles Parish, Pewaukee (July 1, 2006 - present)

As a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, Father has been a Chaplain for KC Councils in West Allis and Mukwonago, and a Faithful Friar for the 4th Degree Council in Kenosha.

Father Bob is the first Catholic priest in Wisconsin to become, in 1999, a certified Facilitator for the “7 Habits of Highly Effective People” seminar. In 2005 he also gained certification to teach the 7 Habits-related time management seminar, “Focus: Achieving Your Highest Priorities.”

Father Bob’s dad, Joseph Drutowski, resides in Bradenton, Florida. Father’s mom, Gable, passed away in April, 2005. His sister, Mary Rinehart, resides in Greenfield, Wisconsin, with her daughter Amy. Her son Sam is a Lance Corporal in the Marine Core. Father Bob’s brother, Karl, resides in St Paul, Minnesota, with his wife Carol, and their three children.

Father’s dog, Nikita (a mix of English Boxer, hound, and several other unknown ingredients) is his 3rd “rescue”. She happily accepts treats and TLC!
