Legion of Mary The Legion of Mary is a worldwide organization of Catholic men and women who offer their services to their pastor to aid him in performing spiritual works in the parish. There are two types of membership – active and auxiliary.
Active members attend weekly meetings and spend at least 2 hours per week performing apostolic work such as visiting and bringing Communion to the sick and elderly in their homes, hospitals, nursing homes and group homes, also visiting prisoners in jail.
Auxiliary members offer the Legion the priceless backing of their prayers. They are not obliged to attend any meetings.
All members have a great devotion to our Blessed Mother and recite the Rosary daily along with prayers contained in the Legion prayer leaflet called the “Tessera”.
