Parish life services enhance the social atmosphere of the parish.

We are blessed to have a fine selection of organizations and clubs to extend ourselves in hospitality and evangelization. Please click on the titles to learn more about each opportunity and how you might volunteer your time and talents at Queen of Apostles.

"Acts of the Apostles"
Purpose:

This creative group of parishioners produces a musical review-type show each year.

Bingo
Purpose:

Each Saturday night at Queen of Apostles' Alberte Center, you can enjoy playing Bingo for cash prizes. School and Parish volunteers arrive at the gym by 5:15 PM to greet and service our customers by selling bingo card and concessions. The games begin at 6:30 PM with an "Early Bird" session of 10 games with $100 jackpots. The "Late Bird" session follows a short break and offers prizes totaling $1,000 as well as a jackpot game for $250. Finish the night with a full card "progressive" bingo game where the pot keeps growing from week to week!

Booster Club
Purpose:

Queen of Apostles School and Christian Formation students are encouraged to participate in extracurricular sports activities. Beginning in 5th grade, students can develop their talents and spirit on our volleyball, basketball, track and poms teams. Fair play and a spirit of good sportsmanship emerge from the Catholic playing environment. The Booster Club provides funding for various equipment needs throughout the parish and school.

Christian Women
Purpose:

This long-standing parish organization meets monthly. Members enjoy dinner/theater outings, speakers and coordinating the annual rummage sale. They also oversee the Father Carl Alberte Scholarship fund which provides financial support to students wishing to pursue a Catholic high school education.

CYM Volleyball
Purpose:

To play on a co-ed volleyball team with other High School age players at a recreational or competitive level.

Responsibilities:
  1. Participate in practices once a week.
  2. Play in matches on Sundays in November and December after the High School volleyball season.
  3. Have fun!

Gifts Needed for this Ministry:
  1. Must be able to be physically active.
  2. Volleyball experience a plus, but not a requirement.

Amount of Time Required:

2 hour practice once a week, 2 matches on Sundays

Dartball Team
Purpose:

To be part of a team of players that plays dart ball against other religious organizations in the Waukesha County area.

Responsibilities:
  1. Must know how to have fun!

2-3 hours on Tuesday nights, September thru April

Elizabeth Ministry
Purpose:

Elizabeth Ministry is DYNAMIC, INVITING, INSPIRING, SUPPORTIVE, ENTERTAINING, WELCOMING, ENCOURAGING, NOURISHING, EVOLVING, INCLUSIVE, COMPASSIONATE, EDUCATING... It to represents the needs of the women of our parish. Elizabeth Ministry is a fresh format for woman to woman mentoring. Elizabeth Ministry is an international movement designed to support women and their families during joys, trials and sorrows. It encourages the development of relationships and fosters the sharing of personal experiences. The energy for Elizabeth Ministry flows from the gift of compassion. It recognizes that we are by nature social beings who need one another for human and spiritual growth.

Elizabeth Ministers are volunteer representatives of a faith community that are willing to share their presence, stories, and experience in the hope that these will encourage another woman and her family.

NO MEETINGS! With today's overly scheduled calendars, no one needs another meeting. We will, however, have a monthly "Gathering" held for whoever is interested in attending. The format of the gatherings will vary from month to month. Enrichment gatherings for personal growth and education, Social gatherings for much needed down time with your girlfriends, Chat & Chore gatherings to complete a needed project, & Spiritual gatherings to help us strengthen our relationship with God.

The flexible structure of Elizabeth Ministry will assist women in recognizing their gifts and talents. It will make visible the concrete relationship of Jesus to the women of the Church. We follow the Blessed Mother's example of praising God, cherishing children and building community.

Responsibilities:
  1. Support women.
  2. Inspire women.
  3. Protect family.

Gifts Needed for this Committee:
  1. Enjoy social gatherings with other women.
  2. Enjoy spiritual gatherings with other women.
  3. Enjoy educational opportunities with other women.
  4. Enjoy making friends.

Amount of Time Required:

90 minutes, monthly.

Length of Commitment:

Not applicable; women are encouraged to attend events of interest as their schedule permits.

Festival of Faith

Knights of Columbus

Purpose:
The Knights of Columbus is an organization of Catholic men, 18 yrs and older who are committed to our Catholic Faith, our families, our parish and our community.

Responsibilities:
  1. Faith - As Knights, our faith is our foundation.Dedicated to the Catholic Church's growth and her good works, we support religious outreach, promote vocations and provide financial support for seminarians and postulates.
  2. Community - The Knights are committed to our communities. By actively and financially supporting charities like Special Olympics, by leading the charge in pro-life activities, by helping those in need, we strive to make our communities better.
  3. Family - As fathers and husbands, serving our families is not only part of what we do. The Knights of Columbus offer programs that strengthen family and marital bonds by holding numerous family focused events.
  4. Youth - The importance of helping today's youth become tomorrow's leaders is a huge focus of the order. We sponsor events like the Keep Christ In Christmas poster contest, Punt, Pass & Kick Competition, Soccer Skills Competition and Free Throw Contest. The Knights of Columbus assists youth in building a strong sense of civic and religious responsibility.
  5. Fellowship - To be a Knight means to believe in each other as we believe in ourselves.

Gifts Needed for this Ministry:
  1. It is required that you be a practicing Catholic, 18 years or older.
  2. A willingness to support your faith, family and community.

Amount of Time Required:

As little or as much as you want. We have monthly meetings that are not required attendance.

Length of Commitment:
Not applicable; We hope that becoming a Knight will become an important part of your faith.

Men's Softball Team
Purpose:

To represent Queen of Apostles parish on the field in a summer softball league. This team competes in the Town of Pewaukee's West Park Softball League on Tuesday and Thursday nights. This is a slow pitch softball league, with practices beginning in April and games running May through August.

Responsibilities:
  1. Run

  3. Catch
  4. Hit
  5. Win
  6. Lose
  7. Tie
  8. Socialize

Gifts Needed for this Activity:
  1. Must be 16 years or older.
  2. Ability to run bases.
  3. Ability to throw/catch a softball.
  4. Desire to have fun while getting some exercise.
  5. Desire to be a team player!

    Amount of Time Required:
    1-3 hours per week; April - August

As long as desired; 3 years preferred.

Q of A Senior Citizens
Purpose:

Queen of Apostles' Senior Citizens is an organization dedicated to bringing Seniors together for companionship, fellowship and service to the church and community. Meetings are held every third Wednesday of the month in the Parish Hall at 12:00 noon. The annual dues are $5.00 and no senior is excluded because of their faith preference. One does not have to be a member of Queen of Apostles to join. All are welcome.

Beginning with a prayer, a short meeting is held, light luncheon is served and Bingo and cards are played. Members are asked to take turns bringing refreshments. Members also help out with the Vincent Center Meal Program, funeral lunches, annual rummage sale, etc. Outings are regularly planned.

Run for the Rosary
Purpose:

Queen of Apostles' Run for the Rosary is an annual 5K race and 1 mile fun walk that takes place at the parish school campus on the third Saturday in October. Save the date for the 6th Annual Run for the Rosary now - Saturday, October 16th!

Runners and walkers from the parish, school and community are invited to join us for the festive event. All participants will receive a "goodie bag", T-shirt and after race perks. Sponsorship opportunities are available. Click Here for details about October's race!

Welcoming Committee
Purpose:

To provide, in a casual setting, an atmosphere of friendship, fellowship and welcome to new members, as well as current members of the parish.

Responsibilities:
  1. In general, prepare and serve breakfast and drinks from 9 AM until Noon one Sunday a month.
  2. High school students set up and serve coffee, hot chocolate and juice.
  3. Prepare pancakes, sausage and applesauce.
  4. Set up and clean up hall and kitchen.
  5. Reserve hall and kitchen. Line up workers. Research and prepare recipes. Buy baking supplies. Do general paper work.

  2. Ability to follow directions
  3. Responsibility
  4. Basic kitchen skills

Five hours monthly

Length of Commitment:
No set commitment - persons can participate as they are able.
