Staff Member: Gene Kempka
Deacon Gene was ordained a deacon for the Archdiocese of Milwaukee in 1992. His first ministry was to the parish of St. Joseph’s in Waukesha. He came to Queen of Apostles in 2000, and has facilitated the RCIA program, baptism preparation, and been a part of FOCCUS (marriage preparation) ever since. Deacon Gene recently retired from his mainframe computer programming job, and has taken a part time position at Q of A as part of the administration staff. He now has the opportunity to more actively participate in school activities, particularly catechesis.
Deacon Gene has a BA in Business, and has worked towards an MS in Information Technology. He is happily married to Carla, has two children and three wonderful grandchildren. Carla assists Deacon Gene in most of his ministries in the parish. They live in Waukesha in the same house their children grew up in.
Deacon Gene enjoys working with Queen of Apostles parishioners and staff and will probably retire as a deacon from our parish, when that time comes sometime in the future. We are blessed to have him as a part of our parish family!
