Come Holy Spirit! By Carlos Londono

COME HOLY SPIRIT!  By Carlos Londono

We as Christians are more familiar with Jesus and the Father than what we are with the Holy Spirit. Some of us might actually have a hard time trying to understand, imagine or picture who the Holy Spirit is and what He does. Here I will try to explain one of the titles by which the Holy Spirit is known (the Paraclete) that might be of some help in becoming familiar with Him.

This word Paraclete literally means to call someone to be right next to us. Sometimes, at home, we need a hand moving a table from one floor to the other. When we realize that we won’t be able to do it ourselves, we call someone to be “next to us” and help us move the heavy table. The Spirit is the Person of the Trinity that we can call upon and He comes to our aid standing right next us, consoling, advising and strengthening us.

Some people suffer of depression or at times find themselves lonely. If you are one of them, pray the Holy Spirit to come and be right next to you and He will not only be your best company but your source of peace. If you find yourself in need of advice, of support, of someone to care about you, pray the Holy Spirit and He will give you counsel, strength and will also love you.

Come Holy Spirit! Be right next to us as we live, rejoice and struggle in life!
